The Great Wall in the Flower Dynasty

t all started on a Sunday morning 1700 years ago in China. Mei Lee, one of the Emperor’s daughters, was
in the Flower Dynasty playing with her two adorable little sisters, Qing Qing and Yeh Shen. They were
having a delightful time, when all of a sudden, Mei Lee’s mom, the Queen, called them back to the Palace.
She had heard from the Emperor that the Mongolians were invading them again and she was worried about
her daughters being captured by the monster Mongolians.

The next day, the three sisters went to meet the fairies. They were fairies from the Ancient Rainbow Magic.
Mei Lee asked the fairies in Chinese, “How can we stop the Mongolians from coming?”
Florence the Friendship Fairy cried, “Why don’t we build a wall or something to block them?”
I want to build a wall!” Kate the Wedding Fairy decided bossily.
Ruby the Red Fairy asked, “But what shall we call it?”
Fern the Green Fairy replied, “The Great Fairy Wall of China so we could be famous!”
Kylie the Carnival Fairy gasped, “Then everyone will discover that we fairies are real!”
Lucy the Diamond Fairy exclaimed, “Why don’t we just call it the Great Wall of China!”
Everyone agreed.
But Mei Lee still worried and solemnly asked, “How are we going to build it?”
Then Yeh Shen came up with a wonderful idea. She asked the fairies to make themselves invisible with
their pixie dust so nobody could see them. Everyone thought that was brilliant, and they all started working on
the Wall.
People in the Qin Dynasty were curious about the Wall that the princesses were building. After a while,
people nearby joined the princesses so that they could build the Wall faster. They finished building the Wall
within a month but they did not know the invisible fairies were also helping them. When the job was finished,
the Great Wall surely looked amazing…it was 5,500 miles long and smelled good too! Everyone loved it. And
more importantly, no more monster Mongolians could come invade them anymore. The sisters were very proud
of themselves.
Mei Lee, Qing Qing and Yeh Shen went to the Emperor and happily told him that they and some other
grownups helped build the Great Wall of China so the Mongolians could never come and attack again. The
Emperor was very pleased and thanked them.
So, the Great Wall of China was actually made out of sugar, chocolate and marshmallow by the fairies!
However, these days you cannot eat the marshmallow, sugar and chocolate of the Great Wall because they
expired a really long time ago and are now as hard as rock!
